Hi Melody,
How are you doing? Hope all is going well with
you. I am still working at Tellabs, the same
job I got through a previous student of your after I
graduated. Have had a bit of a busy period here at work but things have
started to settle down again to a more normal pace.
My previous boss is looking to hire someone for a software
position. We are looking for someone with C programming skills and some
basic networking knowledge. The product is a next gen
multi service router. If you have any students who you think might be
interested please let me know and I will pass along their resumes and contact
information.
Regards
Steve

Hi Melody,
We are looking for either MS students or students that only have their
BS. We are okay with taking someone with not so much experience as long
as they are sharp and have good potential.
Please let your classes from last semester know; it is okay if they contact me
directly.
Thanks
Steve

Heres a job (2-3 openings as programmer/research
assistant) provided by the
We are trying to do some study on how power consumption of
laptops is
related to user behavior. To do so we
need to collect a large amount
of "real" usage data from a group of volunteer users over a period of
several weeks. Our approach is to
develop a software monitor (like a
spy ware) that resides on users' laptops and collects usage
information at run time. Our initial
work has been targeting at
Windows 7 machines using IE as the only web browser, with the
intention to extend the work to machines using other OS and/or web
browsers.
The expected basic skill set includes strong programming ability in
C#, web, and SQL database, familiar with Windows system APIs will be a
plus. Since we are looking for two
student assistants, one person
does not need to have all the skills mentioned.
On the other hand,
personal quality (reliability, persistence and enthusiasm) is also
very important.
In addition these two positions, we are also interested in hiring a
mature graduate student who can help on technical literature search
and analysis. (This may lead to a master writing project CS 297/298.)
